We're looking for a Head of Groups and MICE Sales in the UK to join our team.

The primary function for this role is to take responsibility for a portfolio of new and existing MICE and Groups Agency and Corporate clients on behalf of edyn, and the strategy, planning and ongoing execution of sales activity to deliver optimal revenue into Locke properties from this defined portfolio of clients (Meetings & Events and Groups). In addition, the Head of MICE & Groups Sales will contribute to the development of the overall segment strategy, MICE & Groups processes, and segment specific online and offline marketing collateral.

Reporting to the Global Director of Sales & Business Development, the role is suited to an ambitious individual, looking to progress within MICE and Groups Sales. Previous sales experience and experience in partnering with Corporate and Agency MICE & Groups clients is a key requirement.

What it looks like. 

  • Deploying a MICE & Groups sales strategy to deliver the segment targets to support base business
  • Establishing, influencing, building and maintaining relationships with key MICE / Groups Agency partners and Corporates
  • Securing and maintaining beneficial partnerships with key MICE / Groups Agencies, including marketing agreements, commission override agreements and similar elements to ensure preferred status for edyn
  • Conducting regular client review meetings to ensure relationships are successfully maintained, with a commercial agenda for each client review. Taking feedback, reporting and actioning where necessary.
  • Conducting research and prospecting to uncover potential new opportunities within the portfolio
  • Generating, qualifying and following up on leads from MICE & Groups Agencies from all relevant sources
  • Managing new opportunities delivered via segment specific campaigns / promotions
  • Overseeing responses to all enquiries with the edyn Groups reservations team, for timeliness, accuracy and optimal positioning of proposals and contracts
  • Managing the enquiry and conversion process for key high value MICE / Group enquiries
  • Ongoing client and opportunity management via CRM

What you'll need.

  • Commercial awareness and ability to provide recommendations to optimise segment revenue
  • Excellent Communication and problem-solving skills
  • Tenacity and emotional intelligence – identifying and taking every opportunity and not letting go, whilst using appropriate styles to optimise each different client relationship
  • Ability to demonstrate a fundamental understanding of the business and edyn values
  • Driving licence an advantage but not essential
  • Previous MICE sales and account management experience in hospitality or corporate accommodation in the UK and Continental Europe, and a strong client network
  • Competence in Word, PowerPoint and Excel for sales presentations and reporting

  • Core hours are 09:00-17:30
  • Working flexibly when needed, including weekends and bank holidays
  • Based in the UK, reporting to the Global Director of Sales & Business Development
  • Travelling to any Locke location when needed
