The Manchester City Visitor Charge is a small fee of £1 + VAT per room or unit per night that is added to the final bill for guests staying in paid accommodation within the Manchester ABID zone. This fee has been introduced as part of an initiative led by the city’s hotel and serviced apartment providers to create exciting new events and activities that will encourage more people to visit Manchester and Salford.

The money raised through the City Visitor Charge will be used to develop and promote tourism in the area, as well as to help create more things for visitors to do and see. By paying this charge, you'll be contributing to the enhancement of the overall guest experience and helping to expand the city's visitor economy.

The City Visitor Charge is similar to established schemes in cities across Europe and North America and will be chargeable from 1st April 2023. So, if you book a stay at Whitworth Locke, Manchester after this date, you will need to pay this small fee per night as part of your final bill.
